The Comenius programme is aimed at people from all levels of school education, from pre-primary through to secondary. It is also aimed at all of those involved in school education, primarily at students and teachers, but also at local authorities, representatives of parents’ associations, non-government organizations, teacher training institutes and universities.

Integrated into the EU’s Lifelong Learning Programme, the central aim of Comenius is to foster a knowledge and understanding of the diversity of European cultures, languages and values in the minds of young people and teachers. Comenius also helps young people progress with basic life skills and personal development, better future career prospects and a stronger commitment to civil society.

The Comenius program deals with issues that have a close connection to current discussions and developments in school policy: motivation and learning skills, key competences, digital educational content and inclusive education.
